Our senior students were very busy recently with their Make a Book Project as part of the Junior Certificate School Programme.
This year they decided to do a project on Poland as we have a number of Polish students in our class.
They examined Poland in terms of: its location, physical features, climate, major cities such as Warsaw, Krakow, Lodz, Wroclaw, etc. We also looked at its language, currency, food, customs & tradition, pastimes, sporting activities and famous people.
They compiled a book entitle “A TASTE OF POLAND”. They also designed a powerpoint presentation. In their Home Economics class they compile a book on their favourite Polish dishes. They also hope to try out some of these dishes throughout the year.
In their geography class they created a visual representation of the map of Poland. In their art & craft and Home Economics class they experimented with enamel paint on glass and created a visual representation of the Polish flag & emblem. A job well done by all!
On February 25th – 27th this project along with projects from other schools throughout the country will be on display in the City Hall as a celebration of reading, writing and the creative imagination of students & teachers involved in the JCSP.
